    Beosystem 3 link problem

    Hi.

I have a Beovision 4 (Beosystem 3) as a master, connected with at Set Top Box and a V8000.

I am trying to use the STB and video from my link room, where I have a mx4000 connected with a Beolink Video mk II 1615, but I only get “snow” on the mx4000 screen when I press vtape or sat. I have just installed a RF Link amplifier, but that made no difference!

    My settings:

Beosystem 3 and mx4000 is connected with master link cable and aerial cable from the RF Link Amplifier.

Beosystem 3 = option 1 (link frq = 599), RF amplifier = off. MX4000 = option 6 (channel 60-64 = frq. 599) My link setup worked perfectly before, with a Beocenter 1 instead of the Beovision 4, any ideas how to get this setup to work ?

    Kind regards Karcenty

Check the connections menu on the MX4000. They should be set to none.

check the connection with the amplifier

    in/out etc

AND you must have BS3 in opt 2

Then I would check the ML-cable and the junction box if you got any.

I checked and double checked every cable, I even made a new ML cable, but it make no difference. Maybe it is a hardware error.

What if you bypass the RF amplifier and press v.tape in the link room. Does the Video start?

You must use RF amp. It´s only picture that goes there. All commands goes through ML

I know, it was just to test the ML-connection, if that works, he has to look at the amp. and the connections to RF.

    Re: Beosystem 3 link problem

It makes no difference. There is no connection between mx4000 and the BS3. If I hold down the red stop button in one room for 3-5 sec. it is only the TV in that room that turns off, normally both TV would turn off.

It also makes no difference if I disconnect the Beolink Video, only reaction is "snow" on the screen.

Well I think that I will get a B&o technician to take a look at the problem.

Thanks very much for your good suggestions.

I had a similar problem with an beolink 1611. Solution was to first plug the mx to the mains , wait a few secondsand than the beolink to the mains.

    Re: Beosystem 3 link problem

I am not sure with the MX, but when I got my used BV1 with ML socket and the Beolink did not work I realized that the BV1 just comes with the ML socket but not with the modul. AfterI got a modul from my dealer and pluged it in it worked....

Have you tried to connect a beomaster (sound) to the masterlink plug in the linkroom?

this way you can test the masterlink connection. choose cd in the livingroom and see if the cdplayer is reacting

That is a very expensive test ;-) I don't have any beosound system.
