New Beovision 4 and Beovision 7-40 Mark III

I have talked to my dealer in Malmö and he showed me this information from B&O:s internal web:

About the new BV4: This TV with the new D10-panel will support 1080p/24fprs. And the Beosystem 3 will get a new sw 4.2 which will support 24fprs-incoming signal. This means that the new BV4 will fully support the new Bluray standard.

About BV7-40 mark III: If we upgrade this tv with sw 4.2 it will also support 24 fprs (bluray movies) but it will NOT support 24 fprs on the screen, which means that the 7-40 has to make a 3:2 pulldown anyway and the "jerking" picture is still there. But maybe the Beosystem will make the 3:2 pulldown better, than an average bluray player. What I mean hear, is that if you buy a blurayplayer, put it in a 1080p/24-mode and let the BV7-40 convert the signal to 60hz.  I will test this as soon as I have implemented the sw 4.2 in my Bv 7-40. But I think that B&O will during this year upgrade the BV 7-40 to mk4 and put a new screen which will support bluray movies all the way.

Software 4.2 will be released "soon" according to B&O. I think it will be very soon, because the new BV4 will have this software as soon as B&O start to deliver it to customers.

This information is from B&O and I hope this clears things out.

    Beolab 5 with sw 3.0,  BV7-55 3D without Bluray(MK II), Beolab 7-4, Beolab 4000 MKII, Beolab 3500, Beovox CX100, Beosound 9000 mkIII, Cabinett 2054, Beo4 MKII, Oppo BDP-93 Blurayplayer (B&O-version)

D-10 panel is a generation back. Panasonic has already the D11 serie available with contrast 30.000:1.

A missed chance not to include in this new plasma the latest panel.

    I would't bother, if the D11 panel was't such a big improvement .

Isn't that the same what was said about D9 AND D10 since D10 would be full HD?

    Bingo,

the  G11 is only available for Panasonic's  consumer TV range, the comercial line up is still G10! So no missed chance, the G10 is the latest and greatest from Pana.

A commercial plasmapanel is exactly the same as a consumer panel. Only The bazel and connections and buildquality of the house makes the difference. That must be more robust. So it is a big missed chance because the blacklevel and contrast difference between the G10 and G11  is enourmous !!!! Everyone would notice the difference.

Sorry, Bingo, not B&O's fault. Panasonic does not offer G11 comercial panels as of today. You may want to call Panasonic and ask why they always have a huge delay of implementing the latest panel line up within their comercial panel series.

No matter who is the blame, the blacklevel is not up to date to the standard of today. Hope they solve it very soon.

"let the BV7-40 convert the signal to 60hz."

How do you do that? Adjust anything in a menu? Or does the TV do it automatically?

Please let us know when you have updated your BS3 with the new software (4.2). I think many of us are waiting for this.

The other thing: I can not belive that the new BV4 can handle the 24p "problem".....

    many greetz from Austria, Hannes
