    beomaster 3000 1987

When my system has been switched on for more than 15 minutes, whatever it is doing, i.e. playing a CD, the system reverts to program 3 radio setting. If I switch it off it switches itself back on to progam 3 again. The only thing I can do is to remove the plug. My local dealer says they haven't got parts and it is not worth lookig at. Can anybody help please?

Edwardo - where are you located? I don't know what's wrong with your Beomaster, but there are UK based members here who would be able to service your unit for you if that is what it requires. Unfortunately many of the dealers nowadays are either unable or unwilling (or both) to repair many of the older systems. It's such a shame as virtually everything can be repaired. Let us know where you are and someone may be able to suggest someone to help.

Not in your direct vicinity, but I can recommend Tim Jarman highly. He is in Farnborough, and can be contacted through www.beocentral.com

Might be too obvious, but still. Is it possible it's programmed to play that radio program at a certain time of day or something like that?

    Many thanks for your help.

Looks like I shall have to take it all off the wall and maybe take a trip. I was hoping that if someone could see the problem in situe they might have a better idea of what to do.

I will try the guy you suggested.

    Thanks

Thanks for your thoughts but as far as I know it can't be programmed and it's never happened before inthe 20 years I've owned it. I would call it a day but it's like a piece of furniture all screwed to the wall and I am loath to give up on it.

    Thanks anyway

Edwardo, the B&O dedaler in Solihull are very good at getting older equipment repaired. They don't do it on site, they send it away somewhere. Might be worth popping in a seeing them as they are local to you.

    Hi Craig,

Thanks for comments. I tried them first but when I gave them the serial nos etc they said that they couldn't get the bits and  there was no real point in their engineer  coming out to look at it.

I'd try Tim Jarman if I were you Ed. I'm sure he'll be able to fix it.
