    Beosound 9000 aux input query

Guys, is there any way of permanently having 2 auxiliary sources plugged in to my beosound 9000 ?  I currently have my beogram 6500 plugged in to it, but also want to have a lead from my PC to use streaming radio  etc played through the main system.

    thanks sandy

Don't see why not! Just don't play them both at the same time! You need a splitter cable. You could use the CD/Tape adapter which allowed you to do this with machines like the Beomaster 2400 as it didn't have that many inputs. In that case it was switched so that you couldn't play them both together!

Of course you could get a Beoport and connect to the BS9000 using Masterlink and this will allow you to control the N.Radio at the same time.

I would suggest you definitely need this type of "switched" splitter rather than just a "Y" cable. It's never a good idea to play one output directly into another - it can cause all sorts of mischief (sometimes terminal)Sad

Yeah, i did consider beoport, but not too sure about whats involved in setting it all up, or cost for that matter, given as i am now skint.....

maybe switchable 2 way thingy would do for now.

Re: Beosound 9000 aux input query

The original cable to which Peter refers was a B&O supplied accessory and was, if I remeber correctly, constructed as a "balanced" connection. I would ask at my dealer if such a cable is still sold before I contemplated making my own - I'm sure they weren't expensive at the time.

This is the part I remember - we used it to connect a CDX and a BC1900 to a BM1900 Tape Input socket.

That looks fine but i really need both din type plugs as both the beogram 6500 and my cable from the pc  are both fitted this way.

The CD/Tape adaptor has one DIN connection and one set of RCA (Phono) connections.

Re: Beosound 9000 aux input query

    hi all,

i am facing a similar dilemma... i have the cd/tape adapter in my hand -i am trying to get my head around the connections before starting to pull and prod!

    here is what i have:

    1.) bs9000

2.) airport express (currently connected via aux w/ TRS-din line)

+my intent is to add a BG to the mix+

    3.) either bg4500 (has riaa) or tx2 (have a pre-amp ready)

    4.) cd/tape adapter

5.) plenty of cables & connectors

    any thoughts?

    thx much in advance...

Connect the CD\Tape adapter to the BS 9000. Then connect the Airport Express via the RCA connections. This leaves the DIN conection spare for a Beogram.CD operates the RCA's and Tape the DIN connection.
