Nice one Kevin!  Now I know why they cost so much!

Did you manage to see the smoking room?  I myself unfortunately due have this terrible habit, but I am more than happy that my B&O equipment will survive!Embarrassed

Yes we did, from memory it takes a week to reproduce a 15 a day 10 year habit. Originaly used for CRT's to see if the smoke could get in behind the glass contrast screen but now to see if the negative pressure of the cooling fans causes any problems with the flat panels.

Interestingly the products are tested to work in humidity, so unlike some manufacturers where your equipment has to be specialy treated if you move to a more humid climate B&O do this as standard.

I love the fact that B&O take into account we are not going to replace our equipment year after year!

is this what is called "the tortue chamber"? I think one of the reasons why (most) B&O Products are woth their moneyis that they are extensivly tested before launch.

There was a half-hour show on UK TV a while back which was almost all about B&O's torture chamber. Shows that B&O really is interested in the long-term customer experience, as well as the 'out of the box' wow factor.

It was the Gadget Show on Channel 5.  To my knowledge the only thing worth watching on Channel 5 :-)

There are also several videos on the B&O website from the different test facilities, I especially enjoy the one where a man scrapes ice of the front of an Avant with a normal car icescraper.

My brother used to work down in the torture chamber, and I have once seen it, I think it is very impressive and like the fact that our products is tested beyond the limits.
