    Hi

I'm in Albuquerque, NM. My big plan is to add a AudioSource AMP300 and preamp it with the Beocenter 9000 to power my Acoustat Model 4's. Right now I'm using my Sansui G-6700 to power the Acoustat's but it really does not like the 2ohm load. I put a call to a B&O place it California and he said he'll look to see if the kit was still around. But if you find yours I'm sure we can make a deal.

I thought you might be "across the pond". In which case I believe you will need the 120 volt version which I think was a type 4001 remote mains switch.

I might be interested in this kit if it works with a Beomaster 5000.

    Please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Ben.

Ben, I believe the only two products it would work with were the Beocenter 9000 and the Beomaster 5000. For using it with other products you needed a special lead which conected to the Powerlink sockets.

If this kit is no good for Roy, i'd be interested if its still available.

I'm using external power amps on my Beomaster 5000, and was thinking this would save me having to power them up and down seperately.

    Thanks,

    Ben

It's a 12 volt relay which when powered from a socket on the Beocenter 9000 can be used to power on external devices such as power amps. I used it when I had the Quad 405 with my BC9000. It has a timer facility as well although I never quite got the hang of that.

As there is no dedicated socket for this device on the BC5000 you will need to arrange a 12v supply from the Beocenter which will trigger the device when the Beocenter play function is activated. It could be done and there is a socket included with the kit for just this eventuality.

Acording to the user manual the Beomaster 5000 does have a dedicated connection for the relay.

I should have checked, thanks Craig. So the 4002 should work out of the box!

Send me a PM Ben, if you are interested in it.

I have the North American version of this and, as near as I can tell, the "TIMER" indicator on the front is just to let you toggle between having the outlet controlled by the BeoCenter and having it powered all the time.

As others have noted, you can use this with modern, PowerLink equipment by use of a simple breakout cable that B&O has.

However -- and I'm not sure if this is important in GB -- the outlet on the back is non-polarized, at least on the 110v version. It's hard finding equipment that will plug into a non-polarized outlet nowadays.

Well, I found a barrel type plug thats fits the 9000 so I think I can tap the 12v and send it to the amp to fire its relay.

    Hi Frank

Are you in Denver? I got some parts from a place in Denver that services B&O but I can't remember the name or phone # would you have that info?

and to anyone that knows, does the 4001 or 4002 (i found a photo of it on this web site) just triggers 1 ac outlet ie. you plug the 12v wire to the 9000 and then you plug the 4001 to ac then you plug 1 thing like a amp or lamp to it? and then when the beocenter is turned on it sends 12v to a relay in the 4001 which sends power to the ac outlet.
