Beocord 2000 Casette Player Model 2922 - just about 25 years old

The main drive belt on my Beocord has stretched beyond all recognition.

Can anyone point me in the direction to get a replacement - all other belts seem fine.

The problem that made me start poking around inside was that the record/play heads were permanently "engaged" and I couldn't get a cassette into the "slot". Does anyone know if this is belt related or likely to be another problem.

    Cheers,

    Welcome to Beoworld !

The tapeheads are constantly engaged  because the drivebelt is unable to transfer enough torque to move the mechanism. This is very common.

Belts are available as a set with all three. If a tape is stuck in the deck don't force anything, but ask for instructions when ordering. PM me for details.

Thanks for the welcome Martin, and for the advice.

I just acquired a used "replacement" deck on eBay, but it's had a hard life and needed a little tlc to get it to work. Adjusting the "forks" that keep the casette in place seems to have got it sorted.

I'd really like to get my own one back in working order as it's in known good condition with all the original screws, plus a extra washer that appeared from somewhere!
