I realise that this might be better suited to the Beogram section, but i wanted as wide an audience as possible. As we all know, Soundsmith make new cartridges to replace the MMC1-5 and the MMC20/MMCX000 ranges. They are really rather superb hand made cartridges and I will happily vouch that they sound better than the originals. (And no, i have not got a free one!) However they are mainly black, especially the MMC20 range. As the main decks used will be the 4000 and 8000 type decks, a silver unit would be preferable. I am looking to see if i can commission some silver ones - not sure if this would be possible or practical but an idea of those who would be interested would be very helpful to me. The MMC20 range vary between about £120 to £300+ in price in the black form. What I am looking at is whether I can get a small number of silver bodies made and therefore need some idea of numbers. Probably a one off opportunity and therefore the subject of ...... a poll!

 

Ah, reviving this post. I have just acquired a rather phenomenal looking Beogram 4000, which will need a new cartridge, and I would definitely be willing to pay a fair premium for the privilege!

Not had any contact back since I suggested that I would get the bodies done for them as an experiment! I'll give them a nudge!!
