I'm hoping (but not assuming) that I'd be able to connect to it wirelessly, through my Mac or PC and be able to control the tracks from my desk? Right? I'd also like to be able to use my iPod with some kind of Remote Buddy control, so I don't have to be sitting next to the Beosound 5 to change tracks. Does anyone know if the Beosound 5 will have wireless ML or other support built in to it?

nlb: Does anyone know if the BS5 can be operated using a remote control like the Beo4 or Beo5, or is the 'screen' supposed to be a 'fixed' remote control in the room? nlb.
According to the links posted, the BS5 needs a 12V and a 5V power supply to make it work - that certainly says it's a static display/control unit to me, probably connected to the BM5 via a multicore cable. It would, however, be inconceivable (read suicidal) for B&O to release a digital audio/media source that was not able to be controlled remotely - I'm confident it will.

I am just thinking, that it's not a 2 way remote like the Sonos. At least not in the 1st phase. I thought initiallty they would match that ..... JK

I thought first that BS5 would be a portable tablet device that acts as a 2 way remote. Based on Trip English I believe that is not the case. Its just an audio master that connects via ML to the Beomaster 5. I think at some point we may see additional devices that can be used as a front end for the Beomaster, that was posted here and looking and the links to the cncepts I posted here would make sense. So I am expecting that the BS5 is controllable through Beo4 and Beo5, but no 2 way remote. I am speculating, they were saying its just like Sonos, but its not, it is too big for that. Who would want a device as big as a large magazine as a remote?

Looks like picture 1 + 2 are similar to this one (i.e. details of that wheel)

Henry: I'm surprised we still haven't seen a rough Photoshopped image of what it will look like. Unless I have misunderstood some of you, why would BeoSound 5 not be able to be controlled via Beo4 or Beo5?
Maybe we should club together and buy Secretsheep a camera!

nlb: Now the question is would you prefer the Beo5 or the Apple iTouch as a two way remote for the BS5?
I would prefer the beosound5 panel itself as its own two way remote.

I have noticed peoples frustration at the BS5. Its a very guarded secret at present. This is due to the fact that it is really important to Bang. So much so that they are investing heavily into the software to ensure it hits the mark. It will be an upgradable and furture proofed product designed to give a very real Bang feel and look. I cant give much on what it can and cant do, because its highly secretive and changes as required. Struer are watching technology at the moment and will make changes as required. You have already caught a mock up snapshot. But the main control is a very large aluminium wheel - controlling a large tablet control panel, which as the wheel is rotated, pushed and moved highlights in the direction chosen. The display tablet lights at these times, giving a real feedback to the user. It is interactive and also intuitive, it will give a fantastic user experience and also be beautifully made and sound brilliant. Think Bangsound 2 with the control box, think Bangsound 4, + new and exciting ways of interacting with music.

I think you mean Bang Center 2 .
