    BC2 SW versions and update

    Hi all,

I just got a new (used) BC2, and would like to know if anyone could provide me with information about the latest SW version for BC2.

I would also like to know if anyone knows how it's updated (is it just loading new SW or is it hardware replecement of some parts?) and what I should expect to pay for an update. Will both parts (panel and front-end) needs to be updated or just one of these?

    Regards and thanks in advance,
    Ken

Most software updates are to fix very minor issues that crop up in testing. Have you any issues with yours? I have not changed mine at all and it was one of the first DAB ones. Works fine for me.

I would also be interested if a sw update is possible. I have got a DAB version and I sometimes have problems with DVD initializing takes a couple of tries, and would also like a quicker response from the menu buttons.

Re: BC2 SW versions and update

    Thank Peter,

Mine is the non-DAB version. I have a problem with the BC-2 not shutting down after using the CD player. It's OK when using radio. An example is:
    1) Start with all things turned off.
    2) Switch on radio from a link product (BL 3500)
    3) Press standby and the BC goes on standby.
But if I do the following:
    1) Start with all things turned off.
    2) Switch on CD from a link product (BL 3500)
    3) Press standby and the BC do not go on standby. The CD pause but the BC is still on also after some time (tested up to an hour)

Anyone knows is this is a SW or configuration issue and how to fix it.

    Regards,
    Ken

The most recent S/W is 3.1 for the master unit and 3.2 for the socket unit. The software numbers can be found on the blue labels.

If you have the mark 1 version, the most recent software is 2.0 for both master unit and socket unit.

Your problem sounds software related but I have not found reference to it!

Re: BC2 SW versions and update

    Thanks Peter,

I checked the SW versions in the service menu and it report the following:

    AP: 1.30a
    OS: 12.09h
    IOP: 22.00a
    Tuner: x.xx.x
    Master unit: 1.30a
    Type no: 2811

I guess mine is a mark 1 unit (non-DAB) and running SW 1.30a. Right?

Can you tell how the SW is updated and what cost I should expect?

    Regards,
    Ken
