    BeoSound Century Left Speaker

I just bought a Century on eBay. The sound from the left hand speaker is very faint. Adjusting the balance does not fix the problem. It has come on a rather long journey to get to me. Might a connection have come loose inside? If so, how easy is this to fix?

    Is there another possibility?

    Cheers

Okay, I've removed the frets and unscrewed the main speaker to check the connection behind. Nothing seems amiss there.

Could it be the amplifier? The top speaker is working.

I don't pretend to know what I'm doing, I'm really just after some advice as to the feasability of repairing this. Is a new speaker an expensive purchase?

Is a failed speaker or amplifier a common problem with the Century?

    Cheers

I think the lack of answers is ignorance rather than ignoring! If you are getting some output, it would seem that the connections are present. I think you have probably got as far as I would have done and if you are as skilled as me (ten thumbs!) I would call in someone with a multimeter to test it.
