How to make black plastic silver?

Possibly a question for Coolskin, but any answers welcome. I am looking at getting a new Soundsmith SMMC20CL+ but want it to be silver to match the arm of my Beogram 4000. The bodies are made in plastic which is black. I have discussed this briefly with Soundsmith who have thought of nickel plating it. Anyone have any other ideas? Needs to be preferably a finish which can look like brushed aluminium and be reasonably tough as the cartridge will need assembling inside it. If we come up with a good solution, maybe they will release a limited Beoworld edition ! The body of the cartridge is actually gold plated metal which protrudes at the bottom.

Certainly can be done - see http://www.qppltd.co.uk/

They show some high quality satin finishes in Nickel or Chrome, I'm sure a search will find a similar supplier close by the Soundsmith factory if they wanted to experiment.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

On the new shaver products we use on some outer plastic parts chrome plating which are brushed after the plating proces.
So the look is similar to steel.

Another possibility is spray painting with 2k system (paint, hardener, solvent)

The limited edition has a spray paint metal finish
