    Beolab 4000s.

    Hey guys

I popped to my dealer and they had a pair of exdisplay beolab 4000 for sale. I was in the market for some second hand beolab 6000s but I figured the price difference was only 10,000¥ (50 quid)(between second hand 6000s and these 4000s). So I bought them, I have to say they do sound better than my beosound one.

The speakers have to odd marks on them (in the normal places for 4000s). I wouldn't mine getting them replaced at some point (once I move next year and wall mount them). Are replacements possible? if so, I could change the colour if I see fit at that time right?

Thanks for always answering my noobish questions.

You have done well to buy the BL4000. They are an excellent loudspeaker.

The parts are readily available if you want to replace the scratched bits. From what i understand it is just some double sided tape that holds the top and bottom in place so should be easy to do yourself if you're brave.

The 4000's really capable, fabulous sounding loudspeakers, and they are wonderful value  (when you have found the right spot for them), i bought a pair on ebay, and they were scratched, so i went to my dealer and paid a small fee to replace the grilles and one of the aluminium panels - and i affixed it myself carefully, it was simple, and worth it

Yeah I am loving them. I just watched a blu-ray and was amazed at the difference. I have the sweet spot already (where my beolab 4s (PC) were).

I know you can replace the top and bottom, but can you replace the front alu part?

Next Beosound 4, I have seen your setup Dave in the gallery and  like it a lot. Can I ask why you have placed the Beosound  4 where you have?

Yes, the Alu part at the front can be replaced. I'm not sure what the part number is, but a B&O dealership should be able to tell you. =]
