    BeoCom 6000 doesn't work!

I have just purchased a used BeoCom 6000. Actually it is a set of two seperate phones with one dockingstation. But I can't get any of the phones to work. They simply will not turn on, even after several hours of charging.

Why is that, and how do I get them to work? I don't hope that they were just a waste of money....

    Anyone had the same problem?

    Ruivar,

You say that both phones will not turn on.

I am assuming they have batteries in each of them, a popular trick when selling on ebay is to remove the batteries.

If the batteries are fine, how are you trying to switch the phone on. Press the centre button of the dial for about three (3) seconds or until the display lights up..

    Regards Keith....

    Hi Keith,

they both still contain what I am asuming are the original batteries (wrapped in thin plastic foil?).

Now I have tried pressing the the round centre button. They still do not turn on.

    Hi Ruivar.
It is quite likely that the batteries you have could be goosed.
New ones cost less than £10 in UK.
They crop up regularly on eBay, but don't buy a second hand one, it could be as bad as your own ones.

    Hi Andy T,

I will try replacing the batteries, I guess... Hopefully that will work.

     Thanks.

    Re: BeoCom 6000 doesn't work!

    Ruivar,

There are quite a few batteries sold on Ebay as Beocom 6000 batteries which look the same, fit into the phone and are the correct voltage of 3.6 volts but still do not work.

The reason is that there charge current is different (higher), so when they are put on charge, they do not actually charge.

Have a look at the batteries in your phones and they should say on them SANYO Ni-Mh model 3HR-AAAU 3.6v and normally have a yellow covering. If that is not the case, then order some new batteries of the correct type.

    Regards Keith....

Don't buy any batteries yet,get a meter on the battery pins to see what volts are there. My guess would be water damage to the main pcb.Tony beocom engineer

    Hi,

I know it is a long time ago I listed this BeoCom issue, but it all ended with me taking the phone to my local dealer. It turned out the batteries were dead. I bought some new ones, and now the phone works perfectlySmile

    Thanks alot guys...
