    DVD2 - black bars!

I have just bought a DVD2. It is connected to my BV8-26. When I am watching a dvd or DVD2´s menus there is no problem. But when I am watching a recorded show or directly through the tuner there are two black bars 5 mm wide - one on each side of the picture. My dealer has the same problem with another DVD2 and have tested it with different beovisions and he got the same result. We are now awaiting an answer from B&O. Have anyone else had the same experience?

Is there no one out there with a DVD2?

I think the main reason that you are not getting any responses is because the DVD2 is not a popular product.

Just prior to its launch there was a long thread on the subject HERE

I really don't mind paying for that.  Just don't want to end up with an obsolete DVD machine.

Why are BnO going down the dual format route when

    1. HDDVD is not now the medium of choice following recent market decisions

    2. There are no combo players that do a good job and are profile 1-1 compliant where software/firmware support is available.

Lets hope its not another rebagged Samsung becuase there dual format players get very few stars.

Still, with the way BNO is going I can well beeive this news-

    From a CES quote:

Peter Petersen, B&O's Chief Technology Officer, said they had been planning on making a combo player but after Friday's Warner's announcement they have dropped plans to include HD DVD and now will develop only a BD player. He said it would be available in 2009.
