    I think I did the undoable - Broke a Beo4

I am not sure what happened, but my Beo4 doesnt respond anymore to the different buttons I am pushing. I took the batteries out for a bit, but them back in and it goes into TV mode. I can't really switch it to anything else, except random button pushing will bring it at some point into VTape. I don't think it send ir signals either, I have IRTrans and that flashes green whenever it receives any IR signal which it doesnt right now.

is there a way to reset the Beo4 other then taking the batteries out?

    Cheers

P.s. Exchanging Batteries didn't do the trick either.

It could be the button pad.. ?

I must go through about 850+ Beo4's a year, and i'd say i have around 10 of those that have this fault. Not a bad ratio, but it's possible it's the problem with yours.

You can see if it's giving out any ir commands with a digital camera , no need to take a picture just press a button and view it on the back screen , you should see it flash .

I experience the same problem with one of my Beo4's. When you take the batteries out and put them back it goes into TV mode as normal. When I push a random button I get an IR signal (checked with camera) and the TV turns on (I get a black screen, but this is probably because I've got no video). At the same time the Beo4 turns in V TAPE mode and after that I don't get an IR signal (again checked with camera) no matter which button I push.

It has never bothered me too much, because I have another Beo4 and a Beolink 1000, I thought it had just died, but is there a fix?
