My Beogram now plays permanently.

If I press the off button the arm returns to the right and the unit does not power down. I have to disconnect the power cord.

Anything I can look at?

Sure it's not the little pu arm servo belt slipping?

If it's a bit slack,the motor can't drive the mech hard enough to throw the "off" microswitch.

Belts are available from Dillen,a site member.

The belt (singular) was replaced 4 months ago with a few caps but I will check anyway.

I've have bought some items from Dillon before, if he is scouting he could send me details for a cap kit and 2nd belt.

The microswitch itself could be at fault. I think it's safe to test tripping it manually, it becomes visible when the sled is around halfway through its travel. The arm should raise and the unit shut down.

Anyway, the power supply is controlled electronically, and not directly by the switch. You might have a bad solder / diode / transistor somewhere along the path, or even a suitable short circuit.
