    Yeah,

Much 80's for us because we know the AV9000.

But maybe it could be cool for new customers of the brand.

The triangle-speaker takes away the slimlook of the plasmapanel in my opinion.

They shouldn't have done this. Don't think it will be liked by many people.

Nothing wrong with the 80's.. I don't mind the design either...

Could be interesting if we saw some new flat panel speakers either side...  Bit like a BV4 40" with BL4500's and the BL10 below. Perhaps one of the talented graphic designers here could give us a modernised sample.

Wonder how much this will cost?

This was posted before on the Dutch forum. There were two prices. A American site mentioned a pricetag of 7500,- dollars for the 50" (around 5000,- euro's) and a Swedish site with a pricetag around 14000,- euro's. Both the prices are without the Beolab 10, and I really hope the American price will be the EU price, because it would be a great start for a new B&O stratagy with better prices Smile.

I certainly hope your right ! otherwise how can B&O explain the price-difference ? ship it all the way to the US and still being cheaper ?!

ofcourse the US pricetag is much more fun : finally a modern B&O TV at a reasonable price, allthough the design is not really my style and hope the downwards pointing arrow is no prediction of the upcoming sales-numbers for this TV. [BTW. I liked the AV9000 in the '80]

Seems likely that the quoted US price is for the Panel alone, and the EU price includes the BeoSystem 3, which you must have in any event.

Yes, I also hope that the American prices will be ours in Europe:-) Otherwise I doubt if they will sell much of those Beovision 4 devices.

The US price is for the panel only.  The Beosystem 3 is sold separately.  The taxes are added at the time of sale and are variable depending on the state in which the sale is made.

I thought it was the position of B&O to never reintroduce a previous style.  The Beolab 10 is definitely retro.  i personally don't like it.  Although if retro is going to be the new look, why not reintroduce a Beogram turntable?

    Re: New BeoVision 4 + BeoLab 10 - picture 3

One thing for sure the BL7.1/7.4 looks a bit silly under a wall mounted BV4.

If they had designed a rectangle underneath the screen- that wouldbe classed as boring, or a square- to dull.

So one need s aslim profile that looks a bit  different- what are BnO supposed to make??

What is needed is constructive input! It has to be no thicker than the screen and no longer- design suggestions please!

    Re: New BeoVision 4 + BeoLab 10 - picture 3

I must say I like BeoLab 10 more than the new BV4 (never liked curved style, so I also prefer BV5 to BV9).

The irony is that now not a single BeoLab matches the width of BV4 or BV7!

I would have preferred B&O to release an all in one speaker like the Yamaha YST system, it had very good reviews and was simply rebadged by Loewe for their video systems (see: not only B&O likes re-badging!).

Seriously, both are much too expensive for me, but design-wise I think Lewis is losing his creativity, in French we would say he took yesterday's dinner  & re-heated it for tonight..why not simply releasing a BeoLab 7 the same width and depth as the TV it is supposed to go with? and with a flat front like the TV it goes with?

I think the BL10 is just another option. I kind of like the BL7 under the plasma panel on a bench or shelf like it is seen in Beoliving. This works very well in conjunction with a projector screen which might be more difficult to do with a BL10.

That said, I think the reheating the dinner comment is spot on, but that how it goes in fashion as well.

    Re: New BeoVision 4 + BeoLab 10 - picture 3

The problem in my opinion is that B&O has not yet designed a speaker specially made for the BeoVision 4. The BeoLab 7 series was designed for the BeoVision 7 and it is the same case with the BeoLab 10 designed for upcoming/rumored BeoVision 10. They need a speaker that will match the with of the BeoVision 4 screen and not be so thick as the BeoLab 7. my two cents.

I would think that for BV10 which I thought would be super sized they do a bigger BL10. Or maybe they use 2.

    Re: New BeoVision 4 + BeoLab 10 - picture 3

I don't mind it at all but i'd still rather have a pair of BL4000's or BL3's as center speaker, BL10 looks a kinda strange. That look was more proportioned with the AV9000 screen, not so with the wide screen BV4. As an addition to the range it's okay but not as a replacement. Currently I'm turning my center off and just using BL5's. If I was to go a BV4 wall mounted I think the best center would be a BL9 or of course a BL5. I do think that it would look good if BV4 and BL10 was offered with a BV7 floor stand! You would only have a couple of cables running to BS3, much neater than the BV7 that I have now, thousands of cables running out of the back, cramped little casing!

This would be my concern as well. It wouldn't fit with BL9s or BL3s either.

I do quite like it though from the photos.
