    Beolink 1000 Contacts

    Hi:

I now have a beolink 1000 remote with severely corroded contacts.

Does anyone know if can order replacement contacts from B&O? If so a part number please?

    Thanks,

You can get a swap re-conditioned Beolink 1000. If yours is corroded, I would suggest this route could be better.

If you mean the battery contacts, a new part can be supplied from B&O. Basic electronic skills, tools and soldering will be required to replace the battery holder.

How does this re-condition service work? Do you send it back to the factory? Any idea how much? What kind of work do they do on the remote?

You give them your old one - they give you what would appear to be a new one. I think the body goes back to Struer and is stripped and new innards inserted. Not cheap !

Is the body repainted, scratches removed, new rubber keys etc?

As I understand it, there are no new ones but the old ones are remanufactured. That is why you cannot just buy one, you are supposed to trade in an old one. How accurate this is, I am not sure. I bought one a while ago and it is as new. And I have n0o idea what I paid for it! Less than the exchange Video Terminal I bought!

When I got my MKIII version with the LX5500 I found out that it was DOA.

So down to the dealer who installed a new printboard in 5 minutes. The cost was 47£. It still works great.

Printboards and rubber mat should be aviable from your dealer.

Correct Friedmett, but only MK3 onwards.

So if your MK1 or 2 needs a new button mat the PCB will have to be changed too to accomodate the different layout.

Too bad the little rubber feet aren't available anymore.

    Has anyone found a solution?

I beg to differ Chris, and auric.
I recently received some button pads MK2 and some rubber feet from the factory in Czech.

Re: Beolink 1000 Contacts / Rubber feet

It would surprise me if the little feet are no longer available.
They are found on so many things, also newer things.

Anyway, I felt it annoying that the little feet came off so easily so I've used little pads of self-adhesive felt for this.
The type you would put under bowls or figurines to prevent them from scratching the surface on which they are placed.

    Andy / Martin:

If the rubber feet are still available, can you provide an part number?

This is very frustrating for me. B&O of America won't take calls from customers anymore. Instead, they would like you to call their service reps. I called two of them and both say that this part is no longer available! Perhaps they are lazy choosing to believe that all parts for older units are no longer available, or they can not find the part number?

    Please advise,

    Derek

    Re: Beolink 1000 Rubber Feet

Sorry for the late reply, Derek.
On my shipping note, it says item number 3103328. Guess this is the part number.
If you order some,  get plenty. They will always come in handy and I think they are the cheapest item that B&O sell (unless someone knows different)

Just checked the service manual and 3103328 is the correct part number for the plastic feet

Did you order the MK2 keypad from your dealer Andy? Recently I tried to order a MK1 keypad which I thought was the same and was told they are no longer available.
