Hello all,

For quite some time I had succesfully installed a pair of BeoLab 8000s to a (relatively old - 1985 or so) BeoCenter 9000. Instead of using Beolink, I just use regular speaker cables and set the speaker settings to "link". What I have started noticing is that one of the speakers will fail to play (the light will be red). If I crank up the volume, it will play and if I lower the volume, it will continue to play but after a few minutes will go back to red. If I leave it cranked up, it will play normally.

I have narrowed it down to the speaker itself by interchanging cables and R and L ports on the BeoCenter. In other words, no matter the combination (4 possible) it is always the same speaker that behaves as described..

Are there any suggestions other than taking it in for repair?

sounds like the same issue I had with my beolab a while ago. It was the amplifier - which I took out and sent for repair. I don't know how much that would have been at a B&O dealer, I was helped by someone of this forum... Maybe you should post on the workbench section?
