In one of my recent eBay purchases of a Beomaster, the guy 'threw in' an old B&O stand, not dissimilar to an
SC17 It was quite a mess and the stainless steel frames were showing rust spots.
Yesterday I pulled it all apart to see what could be done. I tried lots of different things to get rid of the rust spots ( Brasso, vinegar, Cif,etc) to no avail. Then I found under the sink this bottle of white powder called "Bar keepers friend"
You sprinkle the powder onto a damp cloth and rub it in.
Wow! It removed the rust spots brilliantly. Apparently it contains oxalic acid which is 10,000 times stronger than acetic acid (vinegar), alledgedly.
My wife must have bought it some years ago, so I don't know if it's still available.
