    LC2 alternative and more... finally

Yesterday I sended a mail to JBMedia asking if they can't forsee an original B&O receiver on their solution and today I got this answer:

    Hi Stefan,

there are good news. Currently we are in the final stage of the Light-Manager V2 development. This will be available with an original B&O IR receiver module optionally, which is Plasma-safe. We did already some tests with the module. The reception is quite good and Plasma TVs are no problem anymore. Nevertheless the reception does not 100% match the outstanding sensitivity of older B&O devices, which behaved almost like radio frequency. This is probably because of the filters against Plasma background light. However, the reception is much better than with the current receiver module from Vishay and so you have a much larger angle from where the Light-Manager can be controlled.

Also the new Light-Manager will allow real light scenes with defined brightness levels and stuff like that. Updated infos will come on the homepage in the next days.

    Best regards,
    Jochen Buehner

Having this information they can count me in for a set! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I just sold my lintronic box and will replace it with this one, because I'll only need it for some light points. LC2's are getting too expensive second hand and a lot of them have a faulty touch function.

I got a light manager, a set of powersocket-adaptors and a dimmer micromodule from JBMedia this week. It all works very well and the whole set was only 20€ more expensive than one LC2 would have cost. I had some technical questions before I bought the stuff, and they were very friendly at JBMedia, answering my questions even on a Sunday. Service is really excellent. Yes - thumbs up

Good to now the service is on the same level as I had with Lintronic.

According to a previous topic, there were some problems with the B&O light manager but hopefully they will be solved in the V2 version. I'm looking forward to it.
