    BV7-40 Mk3 with Beo5

    Hi

    I think it's a question for Keith.

I've just got my new BV7-40 with the DVB-T/S module. I programmed my Beo5 with my new system configuration. When I go to the DTV (DVB-T), the buttons called List, Configuration, Groups, Audio and Subtitles don't work. Every button does the same: opens the Guide.

If i press the Yellow hard button, or menu button, a menu is opened at the left hand on the screen. I think its an error in the software configuration, because all those buttons IR begin by 0:000:TV:EXIT 0:000:TV:CNTL_STEP_DW, followed by one CIFFER, depending of the menu.

But CNTL_STEP_DW means Red button, if i am not wrong.

I am so sorry if i can't explain me better, but english is not my language.

    Can someone help me, please?

    Thanks

    Quim

    Re: BV7-40 Mk3 with Beo5

For you to understand the nature of the problem you have described, a few points need to be understood:-

    • There are just two types of DVB-T/S which are only found in Beosystem 3 based systems like your Beovision 7 Mark III. The two types are UK or EU (we in the UK like to be different you know)
    • The software version loaded into the DVB-T/S effects the way it works with guide etc in some countries. If you were to have the DVB-T/S installed into a Beovision for the first time, on switch on after installation it would ask you to select country so it can configure the unit for your country.

Based on your posting it appears that your dealer has provided you with the configuration software, so when you used the Beovision 7 Mark III template, I expect you clicked the DVB for EU, however in your posting you talk about 0:000:TV:EXIT 0:000:TV:CNTL_STEP_DW which is what I would use in the UK for the DVB guide as RED on its own when switched to a BBC channel gives BBCi.

I do not know what country you are in or if you have a Beo4 available to do some tests, but you will have to configure your DVB-T/S manually.

I can confirm that CNTL_STEP_DW is for RED and provided you are willing and able to re-configure your Beo5 we will be able to get it all working.

So, to proceed I need a few answers to the following questions:-

    • Do you have a Beo4 available to test some of the commands ?
    • What country are you in ?
    • Why did your dealer not setup your Beo5 for you ?
    • In the DVB SETUP Menu go to OPTIONS then look at MODULE INFORMATION and note the software version loaded into your DVB

    Regards Keith....

    Re: BV7-40 Mk3 with Beo5

    That's good.

To be completely sure, I am going to ask you to provide me with the results of Beo4 button press's listed below and from your answers I will provide you with an updated Beovision 7 template which hopefully will work as it should.

So, please give me the results of the following BEO4 button presses with the DVB selected (DTV)

    • RED button
    • EXIT followed by RED button
    • BLUE button
    • EXIT followed by BLUE button
    • YELLOW button
    • EXIT followed by YELLOW button
    • GREEN button
    • EXIT followed by GREEN button
    • MENU note results then MENU again note results

With the above information, the correct setup configuration can be established for your DVB using the Beo5.

    Regards Keith....

I have sent you an e-mail with an updated configuration file to test.

Whilst I don't have your configuration to test it on, I believe it is working fine.

    Regards Keith....
