    uh oh...

I am the proud owner of a gorgeous AV9000 which I love to bits. However, in the last week it has developed a tendency to have a black triange about an inch long develop on the left hand side of the screen about an inch from the top, this pulls a band of the picture out of shape the entire way across the screen. Please tell me this doesn't mean what I think.... Indifferent

If it is the tube, I think it is the same as an MX6000. Nobby is the man to ask as he has recenly changed the tube in one for himself. Saw it when he fixed my MX5500.

Sounds like a fault with the horizontal deflection or east west correction circuit. Not a bad tube and should not be expensive to fix. A picture would help the diagnosis, of course!

    Re: uh oh...

This is not going to be a problem with the tube unless one of the tube grids is pulling down one of the voltage supplies which seems unlikely.

This problem is more likely to be a fault in the "Sync Seperator" circuit which removes the line sync pulses from the combined picture & sync information which in turn sync's the horizontal oscillator which defines the start of each scan which drives the scan coils.

You will need to take it to a B&O service dealer or a good TV repair shop have them check around the above circuits

    Regards Keith....
