Re: What is your favorite watch?
I've always had a thing for the plain old all-stainless submariner. As a scuba diver who's had more than one watch leak I like knowing I have a piece of equipment that can get beaten and still hold up under pressure. One of the record holding deep divers took a couple watches with him down to 1000 feet (all rated for that depth) and the submariner last one to fail. ![](http://www.tnsdiamonds.com/Submariner/DSC_6804.jpg)

I got this one yesterday. A present from my girlfriend, did not know anything about it! It is a Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman Auto Chrono.

Re: What is your favorite watch?
Agree! Luckily they don't quite do the watch I want! The Calatrava with the Roman numerals and a sweep second hand in an automatic! The closest is the 5119R - not automatic!

Not sure I agree. I looked long and hard at a minty 1970s Explorer II with the orange GMT hand at an unbelievably low price (before I bought my 70s Trans-ocean), and that is not a chavvy watch by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: What is your favorite watch?
Maybe some of you can help me... I was at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel last week end and I have seen a really beautiful watch, white with pure lines... Classic, but with a bit of modernity... Its price was only CHF 780, which is IMHO really correct for an automatic watch with a smooth movement for the seconds (the movement was really soft, exactly what I like, maybe at 1/5th of a second) Unfortunately, we were in a hurry, so I did not memorise the brand. There was something like "Jungman", but I'm not sure, maybe it's only the model name... But I cannot find anything about this watch on the web. I know a lot of brands but I had never seen this one. If someone goes to the Fondation Beyeler soon, it may help!

Re: What is your favorite watch?
Thank you Beocool, the model I was refering to could be an Attaché, but I cannot find the exact model on their site... So maybe it's a Junghans, but that would be shocking to find German Watches in an emblem of Basel!! Does the junghans have a good mechanism, and what about their price? I never heard anything of that brand...

Re: What is your favorite watch?
Re-thank you Beocool, you are a true master!!! It was the Max Bill Limited Edition!!! If find it really beautiful, but sadly the glass is in pexiglass (which explains the low price...) Here is the chronograph (CHF 2000) : And the less complicated one : ![](http://www.techforyou.de/images/junghans2725.jpg)

Re: What is your favorite watch?
Yes, I know it is really close to the Portugaise from IWC... But they are not playing in the same league... And I really like the purity of the Junghans, the fact that there is no number gives it a more contemporary look. If I had the opportunity to buy an IWC today, it would more be a Da Vinci...
By the way, considering low price vs saphire glass, does anyone has an idea of the real price of a saphire glass? Maybe it's really cheap to produce!!
