Problem. Cd tray moving very slowly on Beogram CD 50, 5500 model

Hi guys I wonder if anyone can help me with the problem. The Cd tray on my Beogram Cd player is either moving very slowly or not opening at all. I sustected the drive belt, but I have dismantled the unit and repaced this and its still the same. I now suspect that the voltage feeding the tray motor is to low, I have measured it to be 4volts, the problem is that I dont have a circuit so I dont know what the correct voltage should be? I have tried driving the motor from a 6volt battery and it works fine like this. I there anyone out there who has had the same problem and knows the answer or anyone who could send me a circuit showing the drive motor circuit and voltage, that would be great. Thanks Joe

Hi Joe and welcome to the forum.
The service manual is on site, but you need to upgrade to silver or gold to access it.

    Joe,

    Welcome to Beoworld !

The 4Volts sound about right. The problem is not the motor but merely seized lubricants. You need to take apart the mechanics and clean everything. Add a small amount of fresh silicone grease and it will run fine again.

Remember to mark where the cog wheels grip each other and the tray, they are coded and need to get back in the same positions !
