    Help on connections

    Hi all!

Sorry if this topic is irrelevant and if so, please delete it again… but I hope someone can help me.

I've bought some new stuff (some time ago before the price went up) and now I'm ready to install in our new house... but the dealer don't know much about it. I now know that I might should have bought it at a dealer only selling B&O, but that's too late now. But he's an officiel B&O dealer also selling other brands and don't have the time to concentrate on B&O. Can someone please help me to connect these things:

    Mainroom:

BV 7-40 MKIII + BV 7-4 as master

BS 9000 (bought some years ago, aprox 6-7 years ago)

    2 x BL 5

    2 x BL 8000

Kitchen (can see BV 7-40 from here and would might like the TV sound in the kitchen if possible):

    Beolink active

    2 x BL 4000

    Bedroom:

BV 6-26 as link and see recordings from my harddiscrecorder

Other room 8 meter from BV 7-40:

    TV-radiosignal (analog) in same cable.

STB-C box (Selector or new Samsung HD) from Yousee (former TDC) in Denmark.

Sony harddiscrecorder (can do HDMI and upscale to 1080p)

    Connections (I guess):

    8-pins link-cable from BV 7-40 to BL 5’s and BL 8000’s?

Masterlink from BV 7-40 to BS 9000? Cable for radiosignal?

Spdif from BS 9000 to BL 5’s via BV 7-40 or directly for digital cd-sound? Or can’t I hear a difference?

Hdmi and/or scart from harddiscrecorder to BV 7-40 (scart to get signal to link tv in bedroom!)?

Masterlink from BV 7-40 to BV 6-26 (only one masterlink on 7-40!)?

Scart from BV 7-40 to BV 6-26 to see harddiscrecorder and finally analog cable to see tv because I would prefer to see a different channel in bedroom when BV 7-40 is running! The STB-C can only show one digital channel.

I would like to hear the sound from 7-40 only on the BS 4000’s in the kitchen, when I’m there, because I can see the tv from there. Is it possible or do I have to turn up the sound from the mainroom instead?

WOW what a long topic… Is there a man… or woman who want to be in my dreams for a long time and help me!? He he… I know this was a lot, but I hope you understand. Do you great guys guess I have to find a pro to do it...? All cables will run in the walls and come out just where the stuff are!

    All the best wishes

    Re: Help on connections

So apart from the BS9000 you purchased all the rest of the equipment new and from the same dealer. If so I am totally gobsmaked that the dealer cannot help you. Does not matter if they sell other brands or not.

The first thing to do is to download the Product Configuration Guide. Assuming you have a PC - it doesn't work on Macs.

That will let you enter your system and tell you which connections and options you need. Not sure about the Sony HDD recorder but I am sure this is possible!

    Hi Peter!

Thanks a lot for the link... it looks cool. But I affraid I can't use it, because I can't make the BV 7-40 MKIII to be a master and only one pair of speakers in the main room and that's to BS 9000. Also I can't find Beolink active to and make it to my Kitchen... I guess I have to find another solution. I just want to buy the right cables first time and in the correct length.

    ;-) Jes

You have lost me here! Your set up seems pretty straightforward - I thought you had all the speakers attached to the BV7. I would run this for you but I don't have a PC to do this on as I use a Mac. Have you looked at the Masterlink Handbook?

Great Peter! Thankyou very much. I'll read this. All my manuals are still in different boxes because we are still moving!
