    Fault: BeoSound 4 shutting down.

After approx 15 mins of playing a CD my Beosound 4 died with nothing displayed on the screen. Not even the power light was on. I unplugged it for 5 mins and it came back to life. I will report back....

Richard, is it still under warranty? If so I would get straight on the phone to you dealers.

Sure is. Looks like I will have to disconnect it and return it. What a pain.

It took 23 mins to shut down this time. The glass slides up before the screen goes blank. If I press CD on the BoeSound 4 the display shows the CD name but the CD doesn't spin. I have to press power OFF then CD for it to start again.

We chose to buy a bs4 with the plan to keep it for many years, but with the issues bs4 has, i'm worried it won't last. Luckily after a few exchanges under warranty our current unit hasn't faltered.  Why are there so many issues with this model?

What do you mean issues? There aren't really any 'issues' with the BeoSound 4.

No product will ever have 100% reliability rate, there will always be a few units produced with issues. As far as I'm aware, the BeoSound 4 doesn't have a 'high' failure rate. I always tend to think o them as being quite robust and reliable actually...

Do you own one? We had plenty of issues, and i continue to read in forums about bs4 failing, and having some sort of problem

No, I don't own one, but I have heard nothing about build quality issues with the BeoSound 4. If there were any, I would have heard about them...

I've read about BS4 faults on this forum, I have to agree with Dave on this one.

Re: Fault: BeoSound 4 shutting down.

My BS4 isn't shutting down at the service centre. It appears that its a problem external to the BS4.

Suspicion is pointing towards the Apple Airport Express connected to the A.AUX of the BS4 for listening iTunes causing problems or maybe a masterlink problem. ????
