    Beomaster 900K

    Afternoon all

I recently purchased a Beomaster 900K from eBay as a wedding present for friends who had long admired the Beomaster 900M and Beovox 1000s in my kitchen. When I bought it I knew there were some slight scratches on the top of the cabinet, and know someone who can sort these out for me.

The question I have is whether the Beomaster can easily be removed from the cabinet to make cleaning up the wood easier, or is it pretty much hard wired in? I haven't had an awful lot of time to have a look at how it's put together since it arrived...

    TIA

This is quite easy to take apart, you just unfasten the screw underneath and it slides out backwards. You will have to unplug the speaker connnectors but this is easy enough, oh, and there will be a bit of wire from the electronics which is stapled to a piece of aluminium foil on the underside of the top cover that you'll need to unfasten.

I find that some white spirit and some wire wool cleans up the wood nicely, when its all dried out you just wipe it over with Dansish wood oil, you will need about 4 coats, it takes maybe a couple of hours in total

For what it is worth, the service manual for the 900 is on site.

    Re: Beomaster 900K

Disassembly is different, depending on the version.
The chassis of the grey faced version (type number below 2230) comes out complete with the knobs and dial whereas the black faced version (type number 2230 and up) leaves the outer dial "screen"
in the cabinet requiring dismounting of the 4 round knobs.
    Note that the round knobs are of three different types;
One has finger grips and indicator mark (volume)
One has finger grips but no indicator mark (tuning)
Two have indicator marks but no finger grips (bass/treble).

Both versions have screws at the bottom and some sub-types has tiny
screws sitting at the backside upper and lower chassis edges.

Others have two fairly large screws at the back near the chassis ends.

For the 700K/900K Beomasters there is a plug for the internal speakers
that you will have to remove once the chassis is about halfway out
    of the cabinet.

The Beomaster 900M has no built-in speakers.
The Beomaster 900K has two built-in speakers.
The Beomaster 700K is mono and has one built-in speaker, disassembles like the others.

Thanks Martin I have the black faced version, so will make sure I remove the 4 knobs before I take the Beomaster out of the casing!
