Idea [I] Mancunian alert! Woop woop woooop . . .

This post is to give fair warning to Mancunian BeoWorlders that I am coming to visit your fair city at the end of January (1/30 - 2/4) and would be delighted to meet any (all?) of you, your pub or mine.  If any stores would be interested, I'd be happy to do a brief talk on ALT and the development of the BeoLab 5 and family for the staff and/or customers  .  .

You can reach me at dave@moultonlabs.com (or dave@sausalitoaudio.com) or you can ring me up (do you stil say that?) at USA number 978-448-9596.

    I"m looking forward to it.

    Best,

I wonder if King Street would get involved? Lovely bunch and I dare say Andy would be around. King Street can spread the news!

    Beat me to it Peter!
Hey Dave, I was hoping we could make an event out of this. You can certainly count me in and, as Peter says, I'm pretty sure the lads at King Street would welcome you with open arms.

Anybody else in the north of England interested?

Dave, I can ring King Street on Friday and test the water.
If I need to ring you, what is the time difference where you are? It's 20:50 at the moment here.

Cannot see any reason why I will not be there. Be great to meet the King Street staff again too.

    Hmmm, Craig, Andy and Lee!
Perhaps we could rent a phone box.
Might be an idea to pin this, Lee. I think it keeps getting lost in the myrriads of other posts.

What about you, Peter, Chris(medogsfat), Puncher and all you Yorkshire lads. It's only a couple of hours over the M62.

All depends on the date for me Andy as I'm on call a lot of the time these daysSad

Anyway I'll pin this in the meantime.

Its almost certain to be an in store event, Friday 1st - format TBC, but likely to be a presentation by Dave Moulton on the history of the ALT technology, and his time in US/ Struer.

There will also be a demonstration run through of the ALT products ( Blab 3, 9 and 5, ),and a Q&A session.

    Probably,

Just about to speak to the man himself, and confirm arrangements.

Ok- Pretty much arranged Big Smile

Thursday 31st - further details to follow.

Just spoken to Dave, and we have confirmed the broad details, which are as outlined above.

As I expect this to be a popular evening , we will have to look at an admission by ticket/prior confirmation system, as there will be a limit to numbers we can accomodate and retain a viable format, so details to follow here asap.

This will be a UK exclusive, so  we are looking forward to welcoming Dave to our shop - he couldn't have been any friendlier, and sounded like a real gentleman ( as well as being an all-round technical genuis !! )

    Happy New Year !!

    Regards

    David

Re: Mancunian alert! Woop woop woooop . . .

    OK - logisitics time.

We will be opening the doors at 5pm.

There will be a rolling comparative demostration of the ALT products, by yours truly, featuring Beolab 3, 5 and 9, with a variety of musical styles, until around 7pm.    During this time, Danish style Drinks & nibbles will be available.

At 7pm, there will be a presentation/talk by Mr Dave Moulton, about all things ALT, and his tales of life in the USA and Denmark.  There will then be a Q&A session, followed by a final "blast" on the Beolab 5's.

Entrance will be by pre-arranged bookings only, as we expect demand to be high.  To keep this fair and manageable, we will be reserving 30 places for BeoWorlders, and some others for our "over the counter" customers.

To book a place, please PM via Beoworld.

To make it even fairer, please PM only after 9pm, Sunday 13th Jan, so other people have a fair chance to see this info.

Max of 2 admissions per PM,  Tickets to the first 30.

( If this is a bit OTT I apologise - I'm perhaps too used to trying to get tickets for Glastonbury Erm )

Hope this seems fair to everyone - if we are overwhelmed with enquiries, we may ask the good Mr Moulton to do a matinee, or Friday repeat Smile  If we are underwhelmed, it will be open house, first come first served !

    Regards

    David

Re: Mancunian alert! Woop woop woooop . . .

I do sincerely hope that as well as the regulars, the people who just read the forums and don't post realise what a rare event this will be. We are talking about meeting a genius in person who has had an effect on technology in Audio that has shaped the future of one of the world's most famous brands. Plus, we'll be getting to hear some of the worlds best speakers in a stunning B&O dealership.

I for one plan to be there with friends too as long as i'm fast enough on the button tomorrow night - and i'll be bringing along some BeoWorld goodies for all members attending if i'm lucky enough to get tickets.

Hopefully, it will be a great chance for me to meet David in person too - who i would also like to publically thank for the support he shows for both the brand and BeoWorld.  I have heard nothing but good things about King Street, and this is without doubt testament to his enthusiasm, hard work and dedication that the branch is such a success.
