    Controlling a Beomaster 7000 in a cabinet

Looking for any info about controlling a BM7000 in a cabinet but not using a extra speaker kit as I am already using one of these for the kitchen, I just want to put the BM7000 in a cabinet

    Had posted tn general forum

There was a mod kit from B&O to do this, but it involved dismantling the equipment and running a cable out the back of the Beomaster to a special receiver.

Are you using a two way remote device, such as BL7000,or the simpler BL1000/Beo4?

The simplest method,is of course to use another Link kit,it's no problem that you have one on the system already.

There is another option, that works perfectly well, but is a bit "Heath Robinson".

    Hi Nick

do you have any more info  regarding running a cable to the Bm7000 as I could then use one of the newer round IR sensors which I know work with the BM7000 as this would then enable me to have the control I want.

I do have a BL7000 but do not really use it mainly a Beo4, I may yet sell the BL7000 to fund a Beo5.

Tell me more about the "Heath Robinson" option.

Just to add I have 2 BM7000's one which is used for the kitchen & patio in conjunction with the link kit for the patio & the other one will be used for the bedroom but will put in the same cabinet as all of the other equipment, so as you can see I need to control them independently.

Simon,I did'nt know you could use the later (ML,round) sensor with the BM7000? I've got one somewhere,I'll try it.

I may have a part No for the original kit,and more info.

I've also sent you a pm.
