    MCL "sensor" eye?

    Hi,

Is anybody able to tell me about a MCL "sensor" unit I received today with an MCL2A kit?

It looks identical to the usual grey rectangular transceiver, but it does not have the Timer and Mute buttons - it is instead simply labeled "sensor" and the cable is a 4-core with a 6 pin DIN plug on the end...?

What is this designed to plug into?  Could it be plugged directly into the BC9500 powerlink or datalink sockets (with a change of plug) and used as a remote 'extender'?

     Thanks, Steve

That sounds like the sensor for either the VX5000 or possibly the Beomaster 5500.

Or from the IR code convertor. The IR code convertor has a 6 pin DIN plug connection for the sensor eye.

(IR code convertor is for controlling  older products with the Beolink1000/Beo4.)

I changed the 6 pin DIN plug to a 3,5mm jack plug and use it as an external receiver for the Lintronic TT455-RT-238 device.

It's also possible to use it instead of the new round IR-eye (Masterlink) if you change the plug.
