I am wondering if anyone knows there are any possible upgrade to the DVB in BV9. I have a pre-full HD BV9 (Australia) and the tuner cannot decode HD channels. With more HD channels now showing different programs to SD channels, I like to be able to watch them. Or the only solution is to get a separate HD tuner? 

At the minute, yes. It actually shows the advantage of the STB-C approach as changes in technology can be catered for cheaply. Complete pain for you though.

Hopefully now at the end of the year, televisions in France must have a MPEG4 DVB tuner build in, it also can give a solution for your needs maybe .

 

I was a little disappointed following delivery of the TV to realise the DVB only process SD rather than HD, even though the TV is HD ready. 

I guess I'll probably go with the STB option with HDMI.

Any users in Aust know of which one works well? I know Strong will work with Beo4.
