Just thought we may all be interested in how BeoWorld is faring on the big wide web. Smile

During the month of October 2007 we had a total of 9.06 MILLION hits.. Surprise

Yes, i know the hit count can be flattering - but what a figure!!!

Sounds great......but that equates to over 200 hits every minute of every hour of every day....

What exactly constitutes a "hit"?

A catchy tune, with a talented instrumental in the middle - and Simon Cowell nodding in approval.. Laughing

Seriously though - A hit is a request for a file from the web server. Available only in log analysis. There can be multiple items in a page when downloaded that can count themselves as hits, so as i said - it's a rather flattering figure.

The hard facts are that we had almost 2.5 Million Page Views, which is more realistic - but not quite as impressive!

Do you measure just site hits or do you also measure visits to particular pages so we can understand the most visited pages etc ?

Even if so, I think they could be easily compensated for by the number of times my forhead 'hits' my desk as a result of 'gosh, I should have known better before posting' ... How to include those hits into the statistics, Lee, I don't know but, as far as I'm concerned, they are good hits as I'm this way continuously learning how much B&O knowledge the site and all the people here represent.
