Use of MX4002 with Extra active kit

    Hello,

I would like to use my MX4002 (with ML socket) in a link room already equiped with Extra Active Kit fed by MCL from my Beosystem 7000.

Anyone knows and has tried using a beolink converter to connect the MX4002 to the extra active kit?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

Your MX can only be connect to BM7000 via master link, you will need a beolink converter to connect Beomaster7000 to master link.

    Yes!

And the converter must be connected directly to the aux on beomaster. It cannot be connected to the mcl in the linkroom. You might need a Y-cable if uou already have something connected to your aux.

I have some good news. In fact the MX4002 has an ML socket AND an AUX link socket with a cap. I thought initially the cap could not be removed and that the AUX link socket was deactivated with the presence of the ML socket. I managed to remove the plastic cap and connected the MX4002 to the extra active kit with a simple AUX 7 pin cable. And bingo everything works well. I think this is the only B&O product I know having both ML and AUX link sockets working.

    Hi!

I tried it in my setup and discovered some limitations. For example: I could´t activate v-tape in livingroom when using Aux 7 pin directly to mx4002 but it works perfectly when using converter to ML.

Mine works. In the link room with the MX4002  I can activate and control all sources in the living room including SAT & V-TAPE

Are you sure about this? I have BS3 connected through a Beolink converter to the MCL2AV in a link room. The BM6500 is in a separate room and everything works really well.

    Hi!

Well, I think the MCL 2AV does the job for you. Didn´t think about that possibility but it sounds possible to me. Good point!

    Hi

I guess you connected the Beolink Converter to the MCL2AV using 7pin cable. But how did you connect the BS3 to the Beolink Converter ? Does the BS3 have sockets ? Are you sure its BS3 or something else ?

    Mico,

I suppose you mean BS3 for Beosystem 3 and not Beosound 3.

Correct! I have no experience with Beosound 3.
