    Automotive head units

    In the Audi cars, even if it has B&O speakers, the control head units are still the same right? Who makes these? It doesn't appear to be B&O. I always thought the center section of the Beosound Century would be nice to have in the car- it's about the right height for the single-DIN slot size.

    The only head unit designed by B&O was a prototype that never came into production...Sad

    The control head units are supplied by HarmanBecker (the site is in German). Harman Becker supply automotive systems to manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz and Porsche.

    I am not sure if fitting a center section of the Beosound Century would be a good idea in terms of ease of use. Also the materials of the Beosound and Audi dashboard probably wouldn't match. The automotive systems tend to be factory fitted and the market for retro fitted single-DIN slot radios is probably declining anyway.

    So were the speakers that went with it. From what I remember they were round but had a Pentagon shape inside.
