Problem with a V8000. After a few minutes playing any tape, bands appear and then the sound & picture vanish. It is as if the tracking needs adjusting but changing those settings has no effect. Still picture and cue in either direction work perfectly with the picture as it should be.

I am only replying with this response as nobody else has written anything yet. These video players are cheap enough to buy on ebay at the moment - you may even be able to buy an old TV and Video (pre avant) for the cost in both pecuniary and pain in the *** terms that will result from trying to get this repaired.
