    BeoMaster 4500

    Hi all,

Do any of you smart people know how to get my hands on a glass plate/panal for a BeoMaster 4500?

I live in denmark, but I´m willing to pay to have it shipped.

     Please help me

    Martin

    Re: BeoMaster 4500

Oh dear - not good news I'm afraidSad

There are a growing number of members looking for these but they are now unavailable from B&O and no one seems to able to supply  them at present. The only advice I can give is to try find a used non-working beomaster 4500 or 3500 to salvage the panel from.

    Sorry.

You are probably a victim of the poor attachment of the glass. B&O originally used double sided tape. Good luck finding a replacement BM4500!

    Yes it is identical.

    Re: BeoMaster 4500

Actually when it comes to the Beomaster there is a difference from the 4500 and 3500. The 4500 has an extra "display window" which I think is used for the timer. (I have a 3500) You can use a glass from a 4500 on a 3500 as you don't don't need the window as the 3500 doesn't have this function (Difference between 4500 and 3500). So if you use a 3500 glass panel that one display won't show up.

There must be a way to reproduce these panels?

    Re: BeoMaster 4500

    Regarding the extra "window" on BM4500;
the infrared-emitters can be seen by holding your camera/phone in front of the BM4500
press STATUS on f.e. Beolink 5000 and you'll see 4 infrared-emitters light up.

If i remember correctly, there are different versions of the BM3500 (perhaps the earlier models?)
that do have the same hardware as the BM4500,
but have different software, 2-way hardware installed, but disabled.
    When i rebuilt a BM4500 into a BM3500, it was a version without the 2-way hardware installed.
The BM4500 has additional cables / hardware behind the glass panel.

Now i'm a bit confused. The display window i'm talking about is found above the up, down and sound signs on the panel. Does this not really serve a purpose? I was lucky to get one of the last panels from B&O but it was a 4500 panel with the extra window. You can see it with out shining something, if looking close.

Yes, that is the window i'm referring to Smile
On BM4500 the ir-emitters behind that window send the signals to the remote.
