I recently acquired a beosystem 2500 and everything works except the remote control, I have had a quick check with the scope and the remote receiver appears to work. Is it possible that this is a configuration problem, is it possible to disable the remote function and if so how do I fix it.

It is very possible to be an option setting set wrong. You may have bought a unit where the main audio output was via a TV - with the speakers connected to the TV, and IR input to the 2500 was passed via the TV through the MCL cabling rather than via the IR input.

 I can't recall for sure, but if that was the case, then you have the player in Option 0, and putting it to default (Option 2 I think) should get it working again..... hopefully.

Frog is quite correct. It's probably in the wrong option setting.

Assuming you have a Beolink 1000 do the following:

Place the system in Standby. The press SOUND 1 STORE

This will put it in Option 1 which is the factory default.
