    Beocenter 9500 MCL QUESTION.....

Okay....I may be slow and should be on the short bus....but the more I look at MCL the more I really don't understand...

Looking at the below pic off a 9500...... Why does the speakers 1 output have 4 leads and the Speakers 2 (used for MCL) only have 3 connections......this makes no sense to me??

I think, but not positive, that the extra pin was made for the Pentas. They had a display that gave the volume and other info like bass and treble. Maybe someone else can add more.

    Joe is right.

Four pins is for speaker link, and is a predessor for power link. The two extra pins are for display data.

Three pins is for master control link, with one extra pin is for data and one for power.

The reason that speaker link has two extra pins compared to MCL, is that you have to deliver data to both speakers, whereas the MCL carries all infomation incl. sound in one cable, and thereby only requires one combined set of data leeds.
