Linkproblem with BeoSound Ouverture and LCS 9000

    Hello!

I am trying to set a BeoSound Ouverture (with SW 1.0) which I have been using for 10+ years, primarily connected to a two BeoLab 6000 with a LCS 9000 loudspeaker (with SW 1.0) which has been just lying around since I purchased it some ten years ago. Finally I have the space needed to use this speaker as well. I have connected the speaker and put it in link mode 6 and everything seems to be working perfectly for a couple of hours but after that the LCS 9000 stops responding to my Beo4 remote. The clock is still working and such but it appears totally dead to the rest of the setup. If I unplug the power of both the stereo and the speaker and plug it in, the setup works again for a couple of hours. Is this a known issue which is perhaps solved by upgrading the LCS 9000 to SW 2.1 which I have read is available for that line (called BeoLab 3500 nowadays)? Any other ideas of what could be the problem here? The Ouverture has always seemed to be working 100 % but as I said I haven't really used the LCS 9000 before apart from the initial confirmation that it seemed to work which it does, but only for a couple of hours..

Re: Linkproblem with BeoSound Ouverture and LCS 9000

The Beosound Ouverture was the first Masterlink music system and the LCS9000 with software version 1.0 was actually shipped with MCL enabled, but could be changed to Masterlink. Whilst the unit worked perfectly with MCL it had some flaws in Masterlink mode running version 1.0. Some commands would not correctly work and/or some could stop it from working/hang, I suggest this latter issue is what is happening to you.

I suggest you update your LCS9000 to version 2.1 software which will effectively make it a full Beolab 3500

There is an FAQ overview HERE which will give you more information.

About 18 months ago I produced a more detailed document which you can download HERE

    Regards Keith....

Forgot to mention that I had it changed to use Masterlink when I purchased it.

It seems that an upgrade would be a first step to avoid this problem.

    Thanks for the advice
