 Errr, don't like to ask but...  I just picked up a v.nice Beosystem 2300, to replace my aging (but still lovely and working Beosystem 5500). Happy as Larry you could say.  BUT!  I don't know what I did (if I did) but the display on the 2300 now has a little green LED showing, just left of the little red one, when in stand-by mode.  Wasn't there just the other day?  No such indicator is described in the manual that I got with the system, although the manual might not be the one originally supplied.  Reason I say this is because the manual rightly shows the CD laser track as an arc, (original 2300).  My 2300 has a new CD mech with the linear track.

 Also, I did have a play timer set via a linked AVANT and thought that might be the reason for the green LED that appeared.  So I've cleared all AVANT timer progs now, but the 2300 still has this green LED.   In true IT professional style, I have recycled the power too, still no joy.

Has anyone got any idea what this LED is for and why it wasn't there last week?

 Everything works fine on the system, no faults.???

The green LED ist the indicator for the timer (on/off). If you press "mute" while the BC2300 is in standby the LED should go off again (if I remeber correctly as I sold my BC2300 a few years ago). Probably you somewhen pressed the mute button when the BC2300 was in stand-by and so the LED went on.

Concerning timer capability the BC2300 is a bit odd: On the early BC2300 with two-way capability you could program a timer via Beolink5000 or Beolink7000. With the introduction of the Beo4 the BC2300 was "downgraded" to one-way and lost the timer-function (ony a stop-timer remained). Some one-way SW Version still have the timer but it cannot be used.
You can easely tell if your BC2300 is two-way: The two-way ones have an IR-window on the lower left front.

 I was just about to tell you off for being wrong as I just tried what you said using a Beolink 1000, and it didn't work.  THEN!  I remembered, there is a MUTE button on the 2300 itself... So I pressed that AND...  it's worked, the green LED has gone out, thanks.  So now I'll see if I can find it in the manual too.  The 2300 I have must be the one-way version and has SW 1.3 so I'm further pleased that it looks to be a slightly later model that I've picked up.  Many thanks for the help.

Sorry that I forgot to mention that you should press the "mute" button on the keyboard of the BC2300 .

Personaly I would prefer an earlyer BC2300 as I am a "two-way fan". I sold my one-way one to get a BS3000 but now I plan to get myself an two-way BC2300 somewhen in the near future (will probably sale my BS3000 then). but I have no hurry.

Just a small correction:

The timer will do what it had to do when it turns on the 2300, so the LED only shows, if the speakers will turn on during the timer period. (Muted/not muted!) So, for example if You set a timer function for a wake up, than the BC2300 will turn on, and off - just the speakers will remain in silent - if they are connected via the powerlink cables.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought this would be a good place to find an answer.

I have tried the different possibilities with the 2300 timer function (Mute on / off), but I have not found any way to turn the timer itself off. I have programmed a timer from 0659 to 0745 and that timer seems to stay active whatever I do. It does not turn on the radio on, as I have turned the green LED off with the mute button, but the system and the light of the 2300 still comes on.

Is there any way to delete a times that has been set?
