led for bulb replacement beomaster 1900

hi all just joined ...I am about to replace the blown bulbs on my 1900 tuner amp ..i wonder if anyone knows the ratings of these and were to order them ...Ive seen 12v 40 mA bulbs been mentioned ..also would it be practical to use  LED`s or would this cause confusion because of the light loading effect of  them compared to standard bulbs ...hope some one could get back to me ...the 1900 is so reliable in all other respects and still sounds very smooth even today ...regards   tony

Re: led for bulb replacement beomaster 1900

    Welcome to Beoworld !

Yes, it's a wonderful and classic receiver.

The lamps wattage is critical for both the source switching, the volume indication and
    the tuning discriminators.
Some original servicemanuals give wrong specs (12V 40mA is wrong).
I can supply a set of correct lamps.

Thank you for the quick reply ... yes its true how specs can get confused over time ...great to hear you can get old of the correct lamps as the volume i think uses photo resistors i think so would be critical ...(explains why the volume adjustment is so silent on these recievers i suppose ) ...ive also got a 2400-2 beomaster which i was wondering does this use the same lamps and even though the styling is quite different i presume is besically the same beast internally ..i personally prefer the look of the 1900 but thats a personal opinion ..both great units ...will look forwards to a reply  thanks again tony

Yes, the Beomaster 1900 and 2400 are practically identical.
The 2400 has remote control, an option that could be fitted to some Beomaster 1900's.
    The lamps are the same.

i thought they would be similar ...never new there was a remote option on some 1900`s  i remember the 1902  i think it was called with the numbers on the presets and arrows for the volume ...on sale i recall ex demo on sale for 199 pound around 25 years ago at my local b&o dealer ...   if you could forward the details how to get these lamps i would be most grateful  it will be a pleasure to get my soldering iron out after many years in the loft and to see if ive still got a steady hand ...thanks ......tony
