Cant connect my PS2 with my Beovision MX 3500

Maybe any of you are able to help me with my little problem.

I bought a BeovisionMX 3500 for 20 quids the other day, but with no remotecontrol. When i connect my DVD it automaticly switch over to AV-channel and works great, but not with my Playstation 2- As not being able to reach the AV channels from the "channel-button" on the front of the TV i cant see the PS2 on screen. I suppose i need a Beolink 1000 remote to be able to access these channels, right? But as it is really expensive, i wonder if you know any 100% compatible remotecontrols? or another way to be able to play my PS2 on my MX 3500. Thanks! /Michael

    Hello again!

I Bought on BC Electronics (eBay) a romeote that should be 100% equal to the Beolink 1000. 0. When trying it seem impossible to go into AV Mode. So now my qustion is: Will i ever be able to play on my PlayStation on my MX3500!?!?

hi Michael, what button combination on your remote are you pressing to access the PS2?

when i had my MX3000 i remember you had to first select video on the remote and then use shift v-tape (or something similar) to access the scart socket?

I'm sure someone else here will give a better explanation.

Re: Cant connect my PS2 with my Beovision MX 3500

    Solved!

Well.. first of all saying that those "universal" remotes are wack! you have to be a p
physician to be able to figure out how they work... the buttons doesnt do what the say and so on... but finally i managed to "hack" myself in the menu and set the SAT2 to VTAPE2 and that was it!

    thanks for your input!

    /Michael

Re: Cant connect my PS2 with my Beovision MX 3500

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, I recently got a Beovision MX 3500 second hand and a Tevion MD 83388 universal remote with it.

I had a Meliconi Universal 5 Web remote as well and I am in the process to set it all up.

The Tevion was set to "Bang & Olufson" mode already and I managed to set the Meliconi to "Bang Olufsen" mode too.

Using the Meliconi I set up all TV channels without much hassle, but getting the PS2 to work seems to be impossible.

The PS2 has RCA out and I have adapters to S-VHS and SCART as well. Using both of the remotes I can manage to get into the menu to set the AV1/AV2 connections (they are set to V.TAPE-1 / NEW and V.TAPE-2 / NEW at the moment.) I turn on the PS2 and nothing happens, regardless which connection I have it connected to.

Since it doesn't switch on its own, I tried to find a way to force it, without success. Apparently the original remote has a VTAPE button, but I can't seem to setup my remotes to send the signal associated with that button. Is there any other way to switch to AV mode, or maybe I'm missing some other setting?
