How to let a Beolink 7000 allow me to select other input sources?

    Hey friends!
So I came across a BL7000 and am now using it with a white 6500 beosystem, to which I have connected a white 4002 turntable (which goes through a riaa preamp I built).  The problem is since the BL7000 doesn't see the old turntable as being a datalink connection it won't show "phono" as a possible source.  I have to instead use my BL1000 remote to select phono.  Same goes for when I plug something like an iPhone.  Is there any way I can select inputs on the BL7000 to sources it doesn't think have anything plugged in?

    Thanks as always,

    Austin

Good to see you back Austin Smile

The system isn't actually that clever - the Beomaster and thus the Beolink don't query the sources, so it's quite possible to select them blindly even if they are "dumb".

Probably you just don't have phono et al programmed in the Beolink. Go to "panel" -> "setup" -> "system" -> "components" -> "audio" or some such path... then you can toggle the visibility of each source (phono will be behind "other"). Store the setting and all the sources you enabled should now be available.

Thanks Mika!  It's good to be back.  Funny how selling off some of my pieces for dental school ended up rekindling an interest haha.  I knew about adding components but I had touched the 'other' selection with my iPhone fingers and didn't realize I wasn't pressing the glass hard enough!

Operating the upper row of soft keys actually seems to need more attention on my BL7000 as well. Perhaps they are less sensitive due to longer conductor traces on the glass, or something...
