Has anyone tried changing the HDD/codec settings in BS3200?

As the default format is MP3 192 kbps, did anyone try to copy MP3 files at a higher bitrate, by removing the drive & connecting it to a computer?

I find it hard to believe that the internal codec is only capable of reading MP3 192; if yes, do you think it's possible to upgrade the codec to higher specs (MP3 320 or even another format)?

It would then be possible to store your audio files on the hard drive in a higher quality, then put it back in place & enjoy your music..or does that sound too easy?!
