    avant and beomedia 1

hi all, will a beomedia 1 work with an avant? i have the relevant options on the beo 4 PC-N.RADIO etc so could be good to go...

i have a dvd1 and a stb connected to the sockets on the avant and to give yourselves a better idea all my system is connected via a beolink converter.

    thanks

From memory, the Avant cannot accept the "PC" command, so you have to connect an external infra red sensor to the BeoMedia and use it via that. You need to connect it via scart to the TV and although the Avant is a good TV picture, it isn't a computer monitor, so the picture quality isn't as good.

Avant mk3, type 8460 knows the pc command.  software 16.3 available.

Rename the decoder or camcorder input as PC and use videocomposite.

The software can be done/replaced by yourself, if you're a bit handy. You need to replace the ic on upc-board.

The software can be ordered at your dealers. About 25-30 euro.

    But to complete the options.

You can control the BM1 by

    - using the software in the Avant as mentioned above. BM1 communicates over ML with the Avant.

    - change settings in the setup menu of the BM1 so it will respond to eg VAUX. You will need a external ir-eye.
