Beolab 4000 as a single centre speaker

Confused,  Alex says "Don't use a pair (of Beolab 4000's) - they'll only couple and give you more volume at lower frequencies. They'll actually sound quite unpleasant at higher frequencies as you move off-axis. Stick to one speaker".

    Others say use a pair!

    Which method is right please?

It would be more convenient to use just one but finding it difficult to see the difference.

    Thanks

Hi I have been recently looking into this, most people recommended to use a pair.  I ended up with a beolab 7.4 for the right money

I would say that no way is right, its a preference! A single one would do they job fairly well!

    Cheers Nick
