After 8 trouble free years my avant 32 dvd just decided not to switch on.

No problem with beo 4 as it operates my overture ok. Tried presing buttons at top

rear - led display sometimes shows dvd or tv1 but screen remains totally blank.

putting a dvd in has no effect.

I'm wondering if this is some sort of problem with the control unit or maybe the tube.

Any thoughts? Not looking forward to xmas without the old friend!

sounds to me like its not the tube, possibly the chassis either way is expensive!! It doesnt sound like the power unit seeing as the display works so good luck and i hope its sorted easily

After 10 yrs,  my avant 32 dvd is has also just failed with similar symptoms to yours. did you ever resolve the problem? and if so was it as expensive as all that?
