    CRT television; 100Hz or 50Hz?

I am considering the purchase of a beovision 3-32. I found out that there were 2 versions; after 2003 called the mark III (?), which included motion compensation. The 28 inch model was fitted with a 50Hz tube.

How are your opinions about these two televisions? Is 100Hz without discussion better than it's smaller 50Hz brother?

The 28inch is based on an MX chassis compared to the 32 which is basically an avant. The 32 inch is the much better TV because of this.

If I had the choice I would go for the 32" as this is based on the same Chassis as the Avant. However the 28" in based on the same chassis as the BV1. I've had a late model BV3-32 for over 5 years now, I am still more than happy with it.

As with all things, nothing is simple! The BV3-28 , as said above, is based on he MX/BV1 chassis. The sound is not so good and the 28" model was actually used as a draw model to attract people into stores. I remember Caitin Moran doing an article on it - she was excited about a cheap beovision, but by the time it was specced to a reasonable level, it wasn't that cheap!I therefore concur with the advice that the BV3-32 is the one to get.

However do remember that 100Hz sets add a level of manipulation to the picture and some people are quite sensitive to this. In some ways the earlier sets by B&O offer better pictures - the old 3400 has colour rendition that is simply gorgeous - the 8800 series also has pictures that make the present range look appalling. Of course the lack of connections and the old format preclude a recommendation along with the fact that the 3400 would more than likely burn your house down, if you could find one that worked!
